The General Assembly of the Jordan Dates Association (JODA) held its annual meeting yesterday, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, with over 70% of the members in attendance, along with a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture and the legal auditor. During the meeting, the association’s financial statements for the year ending 2025 and the administrative report for the same year were discussed and approved. The estimated budget and financial status of the association for 2026 were also ratified. Several issues related to the date palm sector at the local and regional levels were discussed, including water management, pest control (most notably the red palm weevil, dubas bug, and scale insects), and participation in local and international exhibitions. The shortage of available labor in the date palm sector was also addressed, along with several regulations governing migrant workers. The General Assembly issued several recommendations to regulate the association’s administrative and financial operations and reviewed its future activities. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the association’s efforts and role in serving the date palm sector in the Kingdom.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the General Assembly expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Board of Directors of the Association for the efforts made in serving the palm sector, as it is one of the vital and important agricultural sectors in Jordan.
