The Jordan Dates Association organized a training course on agricultural operations in palm orchards for three senior agricultural engineers from the State of Eritrea through a cooperation agreement with the International Food and Agriculture Organization office in the Eritrean capital over the past two weeks at the association’s headquarters. And in palm plantations in the Jordan Valley
A group of lecturers from university professors and local experts in Jordan presented lectures that included establishing palm orchards and various agricultural operations according to the highest standards until after the harvest. The program also included field visits to palm farms and manual and automated date workshops, and learning about textile production techniques at the National Center for Agricultural Research.
Certificates were distributed to the trainees and they were honored in the presence of members of the Board of Directors at the association’s headquarters in Amman. The trainees confirmed their admiration and appreciation for the depth of the Jordanian experience and the importance of knowledge in this sector.
The association will continue to work to transfer this sector and Jordanian dates to the international level with the energy of its members and experts working in it
The Jordanian Dates Association honors Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Akidi, an international expert in the field of dates production and marketing. Dr. Al-Akidi witnessed the growth and development of the palm sector in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and contributed to its renaissance through his membership in the association’s boards of directors over two decades. He also participated in many studies related to dates. Mejhoul and dates and their manufacture at the international level. This gesture comes from the association in appreciation of his efforts and continuous giving over the past twenty years in this field. He has many books published internationally.
The Chairman of the association, Engineer Anwar Haddad, spoke in a special speech addressed to Dr. Hassan Al-Akidi, “You left a good and positive impact on everyone who knew you and left an imprint worthy of respect for what you provided to the palm sector in Jordan. On behalf of all palm growers in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, we offer you thanks and appreciation for your efforts and what you have done.” You spend your time and effort to serve this sector based on your Arab belief in this sector. We at the Jordanian Dates Association (JODA) extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for your role through membership in the association’s boards of directors over the past two decades, stressing that you will remain a reference that we cherish and are proud of.
For his part, Dr. Al-Aqidi responded to the Chairman of the Association, Engineer Anwar Haddad, and the Board of Directors, by thanking the Association and its successive boards of directors and to all palm growers for their continued cooperation, and that he always felt that he was among his family . He stressed that this sector is great in terms of its people and its achievements, and that the Jordanian experience is a model to be followed and an experience worth studying.

Meeting of date packing and packaging companies
The Jordanian Dates Association held a meeting for its members from date packing, packaging and sorting companies on Tuesday, 5/23/2023, with the aim of reaching consensus on many principles related to the working relationship between palm growers and these companies and workshops. Spending has been made on a set of items that regulate this relationship and will be approved. To be part of the contracts concluded between farmers and sorting, packing and packaging centers to reduce the multiplicity of references based on this consensus.
